fossil fuels contribute the most to greenhouse gases in the atmosphere; just about 75% of it to be exact. though the atmosphere does naturally absorb greenhouse gases, the amount that we are producing is causing 25% more or the sun's radiation to get trapped. more than 2.5 million tons of carbon comes from power plants alone. almost all of us production comes from these non-renewable sources.
why don't we do anything about this?
why aren't more people doing anything?
do people even realize what's actually going on when they contribute to these statistics?
what could we change in our everyday lives to help stop this?
what will happen if things continue on this way?
That is crazy! I cannot believe that 75% of green house gasses in the atmosphere are JUST from fossil fuels. I know a lot of this would be from power plants and oil, but I didn't know the amount in the air would be that much!
ReplyDeleteI know oil is one of these fossil fuels because it is a fossil fuel that pretty much everyone in the U.S. uses, and a lot of it. I really want to know what we could be able to do to minimize the use of oil use. I know they are making oil-free cars, but not many people are buying them, so it doesn't really help the cause. I personally can connect to this because I believe it will save a lot of money in the long run to switch to electric, but they are more expensive as a down payment for the car.
What effect does this have on people?
How can people stop this?
How many people know that this is happening?
I'm really surprised with how long this has been going on and still no one does anything about it. I knew that Global Warming was becoming really bad, but I didn't think it would get this bad. Would it really kill people to try and drive more eco-friendly cars to try and cut down on pollution? Just think of how much better things would be if we could cut down the pollution level so we contributed only 50% or lower! Also I know the township is turning the airbase into another school. Why don't we turn it into a windmill farm or an array of solar panels to create pollution free energy? I think one of those options would benefit the community much more than another school.
ReplyDeleteQuestion: What could we change in our everyday lives to help stop this?
Answer: It could be something as simple as turning off lights when your done using them or walking somewhere close by instead of driving. Even going as far as buying a more fuel efficient car can help a lot. Anything that cuts down on pollution can help us in the long run.
